Haven Collects Items for Operation Keep Warm

Haven Behavioral Hospital of Frisco is hosting the first “Operation Keep Warm”.  Operation Keep Warm” is a project that the staff at Haven are embarking upon to provide much needed winter items to the homeless and low income families in the area.

Haven staff, or the “Havenly Angels” as they are known, place donation boxes at locations throughout the community to collect new hats, scarves, gloves and socks that will be donated to the homeless and low income families of Frisco and the surrounding areas the week of Christmas.  Donations will be accepted until December 6.

“According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, mental illness is the third largest cause of homelessness.  On any given day, we are treating individuals who have to come to Haven for treatment and have no home to return to upon discharge.  It is a growing problem in our city and our nation and it will take many helping hands to find an answer and protect this vulnerable population.  “Operation Keep Warm” is our small contribution to a large issue,” remarked Nate Reid, Director of Business Development at Haven.
